  • Wabi Sabi is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. There is a tender beauty in the roughness of textures and colors, and in the subtle contrasts and smooth transitions between. The small details become important in the ordered chaos and chaotic order.

Nature is chaotic and makes no excuses for the imperfections, impermanence, and incompleteness of the beauty that she presents to us moment by moment.

For me, painting and making art is a way to play, to dance, to sing, to be in a peaceful cradle of loving awareness
  • You saw the first (Wabi Sabi incomplete) version of this oil and cold wax painting in 'Dancing With My Right Mind', http://cowbird.com/story/119032/Dancing_With_My_Right_Mind/?uiid=widget-1128206976-119032

Since then, I have changed its orientation from horizontal to vertical, and added an incomplete autumn maple leaf and an imperfect stenciled collage piece in the lower right corner, both shown in detail photos. Although it may be in a state of incompleteness and imperfection in its impermanence, for now it is finished. The last photo is of the first incomplete version.
