  • When you're a designer, you have to walk the fine line between being too artsy and too boring.

In my own life, I tend towards artsy, because that's what interests me.

So I made up a very official and impressive resume.

The trouble is, it was so official and impressive that it seemed to scare people and make them feel I was overqualified for everything short of redesigning the US Dollar (though I bet if I applied for that one they'd say I didn't have enough experience designing national currencies--as if a lot of people have that experience).

So, I designed a new one to be friendly, fun, even funny, one that falls totally and unapologetically down the artsy cliff.

I set the type in the shape of my face--which is probably insane--and now that I've spent all day doing this I'm pretty sure it's insane--and, at the same time, I LIKE IT!

So--do I go with boring and normal, or whimsical/psychotic, I don't know, that says a lot about me, doesn't it!

I don't know if I want people knowing quite that much about me--well, too late, huh?
