When I first met Grace I was working at the Michigan Citizen newspaper and she was on the editorial board and also wrote a weekly column.

At the time I’m not sure how seriously I took her ideas about changing ourselves to change the world.

But now it’s years later. I’m a mom, and I’ve got these two kids out there in the world. And it’s a lot harder to be cynical.

And that’s one big thing I learned from Grace. That change is honorable.
