Odalys Reyes came to New York City 11 years ago and has a smile so big, it stands out on a Manhattan street full of food vendors. I interviewed Reyes at a street fair on Oct. 17, 2015 as part of the Feet in 2 Worlds food journalism workshop.
Reyes speaks to me as she tends to customers at the Tres Bon French Crepes stand. She tells me that she still eats the plantains, rice and fried salami she grew up eating and tries to get to Santo Domingo as often as she can.
