  • I wonder if he knows how well he matches his surroundings. If it's just something he can sense, from the way everything blends and flows in this life along the cliffs.

    Or perhaps this is a silly question. Perhaps not knowing is what lends to the perfection of the match.

    Ah, the bizarre effects of self-awareness. This is a trickier question than I had hoped to raise, as I stand overwhelmed by the beauty of nature, an oddly removed, self-alienated spectator. The man-made walkway on which I stand, clothed in bright colors, camera in hand, certainly does not exempt me from the eternal order of life. Yet it surely can make it harder to perceive.
