  • I went to see StarKidPotter on their Spacetour in Boston. It was kind of lucky because I'd originally thought it was sold out.

Even more lucky was that Darren Criss was joining the group for that date and that I'd brought my artbook that includes my paintings of Darren as well as of Joey Richter with me to America. So, I brought that to the show, just in case.

The show itself was somewhat crazy and reminded me of those recordings of Beatles concerts. There were a lot of screaming youngsters crowding the venue, making the security very nervous. So, I'd kind of let go of the thought of meeting anyone.

Still, I waited outside, watching as other people were sent away by the police, until finally, everyone had left and even the security left. What I've learned in the past is that roadies are your best friends if you want to meet any musicians/artists/celebrities, so my friend Mary and I went up to talk to the tourbus driver who coincidentally had also sung a song on stage. Next thing I know, I met the entire Starkid cast (band, group, whatever) and the two guys whose portraits were in my book were joke arguing about who would get a photo with me and their art.

I've never felt so much like royalty as that night. On the photo, Darren Criss, his portrait, and me.
