  • Even though the sun was shining this afternoon in Siglufjörður, we face a huge task in cleaning up and repairing the damages after yesterday’s heavy rain, mud avalanches and floods. I have been living here for 26 years but never seen anything like this before. The rain and floods caused enormous damages to streets, roads, houses and other constructions in the village. In spite of all the difficulties we face in getting things right, it was uplifting to see the power and drive in the people, when they started clean up and fix what went wrong as soon as the rain stopped, early this morning.
