  • @ First Park, Houston St., E. 1 St., 1 Ave., NYC

Today we celebrated our 4th anniversary. What better way to do that than to visit our most favorite museum in the whole wide world and to see an exhibit curated from our own lineage in the last days before the exhibit's finale.

Before heading to the museum, breakfast. We walked the neighborhood around our hotel and settled on the truck in the park, expecting a pre-made egg-and-cheese-on-a-hard-roll. What we got were fresh scrambled eggs and arugula on homemade biscuits and the most delicious mud.
  • Then on our walk, art everywhere.

How can you tell what is commissioned, what is a mural created by a non-profit, what is street art? It all mixes deliciously.

Here are my favorites, found in the First Street Garden, created by these wonderful folks. Someone else chronicled her visit there.
  • We talked about, if we live in NYC someday, maybe this neighborhood is a good fit.

In a couple weeks, we will be leaving our house-sit situation in Burlington, Vermont. We will begin to learn a new place again. This time: Asheville, North Carolina. We'll know our place when we find it. Our people are everywhere.

I'm excited for our next chapter. I tell the butterflies in my stomach the same.
