  • I stood before the mirror, scratching the top of my head with my left hand
while brushing my teeth with my right.
I caught my eye for a few moments, just watching me watch myself.
Then I looked down and saw small white foamy icebergs of toothpaste
splattered against the sloping valley of moss green porcelain.
    I thought,
What will it be like one day,
to share this funny intimate part of my daily routine with someone else beside me,
another pair of socked feet against cold tile,
    another landscape of floating islands,
another hand raised parallel to the ground moving in circular motions against 32 enamel faces?

    It will be lovely.
