  • It's coming, it's waiting, to brutally arrive,
To stun us, to mock us, in the first minute of a sunrise.

    It's here, it's everywhere,
At the door, at the window,
    Lulling our every thought,
    Rocking our every sorrow.

It's here, the time we always imagined, never met,
It's coming fast, in the bliss of a sunset.

    It's here, it's everywhere,
In our thoughts, in our nightmares,
    Lulling our every hope,
    Rocking our every scare.

This wave is teasing us faster,
With the sound of a low tide,
The impact of a hurricane on my heart.

It's erasing our first dances, our first drinks
    Our first kisses, our summers;
Our first love, our first tan,
Our first adventure a little further.

    It feels like standing immobile
Waiting for a bullet in slow motion.
All of a sudden it all looks febrile.
Were we even there, were we even us?
Because I can only hear "I",
    And we're only wusses.
