  • In the matter of loss they say
    That time will eventually heal
But as time moves in between us
That is not how I seem to feel

As the distance between us grows
So too does the longing and grief
It feels so long since I’ve seen you
    Pictures bring me little relief

What I wouldn’t give for just one
One more Hug, one kiss, one smile
    That reassuring wink I miss
Haven’t seen it in such a while

Sometimes I find myself in tears
When I suddenly think of you
    I feel an overwhelming sense
    You’re gone, there’s nothing I can do

Now all I have left is your voice
I hear it often in my head
It guides me when I need guiding
Sometimes its what needs to be said

While I am grateful for that voice
I can’t help but feel deep despair
I have lost my secret keeper
A piece time will never repair

I don’t know if time really mends
I just know how it makes me feel
As if you are farther away
The harder it is to heal
