  • One clear thing I remember about my grandmother was evenings after dinner playing on the floor behind her chair. She watched World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, followed by Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. I always loved the sound of Peter Jennings' voice. I played with these tiny pony toys on the carpet and occasionally, very quietly, opened up the drawer beside her chair where there was ALWAYS a tin of these violet candies. I buy them whenever I see them because there is something about eating them that always feels like sneaky magic.
