  • There's that saying: enjoy the little things.

And many people treat it just as that: a saying.

But why not take it a step further, actually enjoy those little things.

Be aware of them, be conscious of them.

My little sister got me a mug that says it right on the rim: Enjoy the little things. Why should a mug have to remind me to do so?

I enjoy sitting down at my solid oak table in the early morning as I face the kitchen. I enjoy sipping at a piping hot latte as I stare outside the glass doors to my backyard, watching as little birds hop around. I enjoy the fifteen minute drive to college everyday when I can turn up my music and sing along as loud as I want. I enjoy when my brother carpools with me and dances to the songs. I enjoy the time before my class as I joke, talk, and share writing with my fellow writer.

The list of little things is endless.

Yet they all bunch up together and become significant in their own way.
