  • This morning I was really tired when I woke up. After two days of migraines, I felt like I'd been hit by a bus. I didn't want to get out of bed, but I made myself go to the kitchen and start my yoga.

I didn't make it past Balasana, or Child's Pose. With my forehead on the ground, I almost fell asleep again.

I have a blue wool blanket that I sometimes wrap around myself when I meditate. My dad calls it my "Mary blanket," because when I wear it like a shawl, he thinks I look like the Virgin Mary.

I lay on my kitchen floor in Child's Pose with my Mary blanket pulled over me, and suddenly I was a child again, inside a makeshift fort.

I lay like that, being three years old, until my alarm when off at 6:10 - my signal to start making my breakfast.
