  • On the last night of our vacation my family decided to go to the beach. The hill we went down to reach the beach was steep and grassy. The downward slope of the hill seemed to carry us forward. So me and my brother ran ahead. When we got there the tide was in so we laid down on the shore and let the ocean waves push us up the beach and then pull us back again. As we laid there we felt the cool water against us and the calm push and pull of the water. We gazed out towards the water watching the waves come in, they seemed endless. After each wave crashed against the shore another would appear and take its place. Wave after wave we watched.
When our parents got there we were soaked and covered with sand. Soon after we got up and we all gazed across the water at the stars beyond. We stood there watching the stars and there reflections on the water. It was tranquil experience, there was nothing but the soft crash of the waves on the shore and the soft whisper of the warm ocean breeze.
When I was standing there I wanted to stay there forever. I liked the tropical climate, the cool tempitcher of the water. But I know it was not to be and that we’d be leaving soon. The thought made me sad. After a long while my mother decided to go to bed and walked back up the hill. The rest of us stayed and took in the beauty of the place a while longer.
