  • Dear Kristin,

We met for the first time right around this time many years ago. I drove over to the hospital where you were born so on this special day in your life, I celebrate the gift you gave to me, a gift that I get to keep opening throughout your life. I get to be your uncle. I get to watch you grow into the amazing person that your are.

I have wonderful memories of the nights you would come spend the night at our house when you were a little girl. I will always treasure the memory of driving home from Elitch Gardens and listening to you and Laura giggling in the back seat. The memory of that laughter still fills my heart with joy. You know as a parent that there is nothing greater than the sounds of children's laughter.

Oh how Laura loved her big cousin, mesmerized by everything you did, especially when you would pretend to make her "smashed potatoes."

Thank you for sharing your one wild and precious life with me.

    Happy Birthday!!!
