  • At our first storytelling workshop for the interactive documentary BYPASSED, our friend Bri led the group through some community building exercises, including one called the Wagon Wheel. For this exchange, 92 year old Hank was partnered up with our 19 year old project ambassador Aadil Malik.

The question was, what one thing would you leave with your partner? It could be a quote, a saying, a piece of advice. Aadil, understanding the wisdom of the man before him, sat back and received this from Hank.

"You gotta have an open mind.

Imagine a fist. A fist cannot receive anything. It can't give.

You'll encounter too many in this world who operate on a brain like a fist. Open your hand and welcome whatever comes.

You just gotta have an open mind about everything. It's the only way to grow."
