  • I took this picture in Buenos Aires the day before my 27th birthday. My friend was in a leather shop looking at purses and I was waiting for her outside. I looked up at the sky, noticed that the natural composition of the scene was almost perfect, and snapped a picture.

I put my camera back in my pocket and stood there quietly admiring the perfect angles of the roof and the power line. I loved the way the colors and textures of the buildings all interacted with each other, how the bright colors of the sky provided a perfect background, how the TV antennas and plants provided a counterpoint. Something about it was so beautiful. Then for a second I just appreciated the fact that I was standing in Buenos Aires, staring at a collection of buildings like a romantic prick, with nothing to care about except beauty.
