  • How do we get past it when we "hit the wall?"

Wathik Alaraaji and Kevin McDonnell dissect the difficulties and joys of an 1800 kilometer, two week cycle of the length of Norway and the multi-disciplines of Adventure Racing, and how they defeat the mental and physical monster of exhaustion. There’s a picture of Kevin from one of his Adventure Races in Ireland...you see a path only a few feet wide curving on the side of a near vertical mountain, nothing above but rock and sky, nothing below but the blue Atlantic. And there’s Kevin, on his mountain bike at an angle that is so much more precarious than it should be because of where he is, tearing around that curve. And if you don’t think a tunnel can be a challenge…just do a Google Image search for Norwegian tunnels and tell me that pedaling through one of those eerie neon-lit rock holes with cars thundering past you doesn’t give you pause...nevermind the Trolls.
