  • My day started with me on the Tube, heading to class and eaves-reading the Metro from the lady in front of me. The front page was a Nike ad that read:

    "February 29, 2012.
You have one more day this year.
    Make it count."

Or something on those lines. :-)

The class I had from 3 p.m. onwards was one where we were making chocolate showpieces. I'd sketched a young Simba eyeing a bug, paws in front and all ready for the kill.. I was SO excited about this class!

For making this showpiece, I had to temper dark chocolate and pipe borders on the showpiece. Once that dried up, I painted the insides with coloured cocoa butter and then "flooded" them with tempered white chocolate. Once that was done, I made the base for the showpiece, using the same technique, with grass and Pride Rock in the background.

A few hours and chocolate-tempering-related-frustration later, this is what my first ever chocolate showpiece looked like!

    Thanks for the motivation, Nike!
