  • I dreamed of leaving. Leaving my miseries behind, escaping to a happy place. I flew with birds, glided on the northern wind and night walked on the northern star. Then I saw the sunrise above the cloud, tasted my first northern cold breeze. I was presented to the world as black as the night. Given attributes that my mother never taught me but my mother's blood in my veins was stronger than what my eyes and ears were being exposed to. So I thrived and kept my head high and in the clear. I left then because I need to live. Now i am leaving so I can reflect on why I am alive.Jean Luc Dushime
