  • Traditionally, on Leap Day women are allowed to propose to men. In the Finnish tradition any man who refuses a woman's proposal on February 29 has to buy her cloth for a new skirt.

So today I´m wondering: should I pop the question? If I want to follow the traditions, looks like there is a chance to get married every fourth year. That is because my partner is also a woman.

But well, we couldn´t get married in Finland any way, we could just get something called "registered partnership". And I don´t want to get registered. My dog is registered. If I had a car, I would register it. But I´m not going to register myself, my girlfriend or our relationship. I want to get married one day.

I hope that after four years there would be a possibility for us to marry. I hope that on Leap Day 2016 I can really consider proposing.
