  • I met her an hour before at the airport. We got into her car and headed downtown to some rooftop cafe. There we ate and talked about grandparents and childhoods and relationships. Her last one had ended just three hours before. She had a drink or two, the walls between us crumbled and we moved on to causes and conditions. As we pulled up to her apartment she told me about a past tormentor and asked if i would like to see the photographs of the shape he left her in. Here, she tells me some of what happened and ultimately why she wants me to see.
