    Notes from Jay Allison

Linsey Lee is the Oral History Curator at the Martha's Vineyard Museum. She has made beautiful books from the interviews she's done and the photos she's taken. When the station signed on we were lucky to have her recording stories for many of our IDs. We think of our project, in a way, as an ongoing oral history of our place, in thirty and sixty second bursts. The voices stay on the air, even after the people are gone.

Linsey writes, "Pat West was a sailor, explorer, inveterate tinkerer and inventor. His love for dancing, dogs and people was legendary. He sailed his Friendship sloop Erda and his gaff-rigged canoe into his late 80's. I love this story of 'making do' when you live on an island."
