Did not get accepted to medical school.
But I gained great humility by all the support you doted on me in the past months.... and man, were they many...
It's like when you are stuck on highway at gloomy night,
since your car, your ride toward your dream, failed to deliver your expectations.
So you pick up the manual to jump start your engine..
You read the words to restart yourself..
"Lean into discomforts, attack your fears, fail until you succeed.."
From these approaches,
My headlights flicker on and off, showing hope towards the road ahead..
But most likely, this cost you painstaking time before you find yourself again in automatic drive mode toward your destination, your dream.
But during some gloomy winters of life,
in the most unlikely of events,
you find yourself treated with unexpected generosity.
During their own drive to their dreams,
you see them slowing down for you, to meet you where you are at.
Watching your struggles in life with care, they tell you..
"Hey man, you need a jump?"
Some jump start you.
Some pull you out of a deep ditch.
Some get you off your ass by pushing you.
Irregardless, their presence commands the message:
"Hey man, it'll be all right. Get back in your car. Try again."
Eventually, when this outside moral support fuses perfectly with your inner courage…
You find yourself starting to believe it…
‘My flickering light will eventually become a lingering glow.’
Your friends are not insurance companies in times of shutdowns,
but they sure accompany you..
toward leap of faith for human compassion,
and toward the fruition of your passion.
So I say again,
Thank you guys…
For all your support.
