  • Black dog comes to sit at her feet and

One by one her dreams are extinquished

Like dying stars in the sky

    Unnoticed and misunderstood

Which she can no longer pinpoint

    Because she no longer cares

To beat her wings furiously against the cage

Of her own making, futility apparent

She lets go of all desires

Anger turned inward and tamped tightly down

There was nothing left to do

But to stare unseeing into the distance

Black dog knows her secrets untold

Then locks them, and throws away the key
