  • It means a lot to me
    These shark-tooth words you
    Spit
    In my direction
    With a devil’s gleam
    Shining
    In black, pitiless eyes
    The smile you flash
    With lips tight,
    Drawn,
    Over a snarl of teeth.
    Your face becomes a mask
    Mocking
    Defiant
    The eyes downcast
    Burning holes in my hands
    Where they rest
    Inches from yours.
I never was too scared to touch
    Or to be touched
    But I couldn’t move myself
    Closer
    Despite the ache
    In my chest
    I was only driven further
    From your mocking mask
    With skin tightly
    Drawn
    Over features
    That were once beautiful.
This stranger that sits beside me
    Hiding
    In your flesh
    This demon leaning back
    In my car
    Seething venom from every pore
    Is not the girl
    I wanted to spend
    Every ticking-clicking-tocking-mocking
    Minute with
She’s not the same person who’s
    Lips
    Were my only weakness
    Who’s
    Kiss
    I would crave:
    My one true addiction.
This stranger shifting noisily in her seat
    Twirling her rings
    And snapping her teeth
    Drives me away
    As she spews
    Lines and lies
    And swings her fists
    So fast
    time
    Stands
    Still
    And I realize how
    Far
    We’ve come and gone
    And I realize there’s nothing
    I can say
    That will cut this loop
    And I realize
It was in the palm of our
    Hands
    Like a living thing
    Beating
    Against our flesh
    Fluttering like an eye blink
    Lashes tickling across fingertips
    And wrists
Blue lines racing under pale skin
    Chasing thoughts better left
    Uncaught
    It left us breathless
    And senseless
    Our bodies forgotten
    A million miles away
    As we crashed through Nebulas
    And watched supernovas collapse
    Like the afterglow
    Souls splashing back to their
    Owners
    In golden halos and sighs
    The feelings floating and choking
So intense it makes you want
    To whisper
    Obscenities
    Like
    ‘love me,
    love you’
