  • A still moment caught while in motion can reveal an artful perspective. Images blend and coalesce into a new vision and experience unbound by the laws of physics. An optical shift, maybe faster than the speed of... Thought, sight, and only seen in retrospect. And so, here is that perspective. Looking from a cafe, a low lying haze envelopes the London alley. In the foreground left is a window where Sherlock Holmes was proported to have determined the cause of a silver pole (known as 'the bolt') having been lodged into the stone wall. Further along the alley an opportunistic entrepreneur built a kind of night club with patio and 3 poles in likeness of the 'the bolt', and made a house drink called 'the Sherlock.' Some patrons can be seen enjoying the patio. Several nearby neighbors complained about the gaudy glare of the overhead lights. The club owner has since agreed as a result To install lower watt soft lighting. The curved bar between 2 stones, in haze, is the entrance to the club. However, this is in actuality, the outline of a cell phone and hands capturing a photo from a Toronto bus as it enters a tunnel with incidental reflections. There is this quote from Albert Einstein that I like - "If the facts don't fit your theory, change the facts."
