  • My husband and I love to feed the birds - all the birds.

Strange and beautiful birds come migrating here in winter, now.

Strange and beautiful birds touch my life in real life and through the Internet also.

About 3 weeks ago a young man in a city in the state of Veracruz contacted me, he said he is the friend of another FaceBookfriend that I have long lost contact with.

This man, writes me several messages every day. Short ones. on Christmas Eve he wrote me that I had brought light into his darkness.

I find out: he is 22, feels an oddball in his family, who is good, but nobody understands him. No, he does not have friends. He hardly ever goes out. Sometimes he drinks too much wine. He needs to loose weight. He suffers from depression and panic attacks and is on medication.

And: he is a writer. He has written 7 novels and 3 books of poems.

Nowhere is anything published. He does not know how to do that, how to go about this whole thing.

He sends me one novel and I am impressed. His writing seems to come out of a different time. He dreams away, but the story holds, mysterious. I am reminded of Angeles Mastretta and even the great Mario Vargas Llosa....

Now, since two days, he has not sent any message. I wonder: has he taken off for another place and time?
