  • The sound of a homemade goose call, made by John Chase in Kotzebue, Alaska, by melting a hole in a spent shotgun shell. He made several as party favors for his son's birthday party. When used while hunting in the field, the call can make flocks of geese change direction. It's a humbling experience, John said, to be able to speak directly to nature that way.
