  • I have been prescribed with ADD, severe depression, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, developing Avoidant Personality Disorder hence multiple personality disorders. I am particularly scared of having Narcissist Personality Disorder. This happened today when talking to the psychiatrist, he decided to prescribed me with 5 different types of psychotropic drugs. I went home and I did my own research on the drugs he prescribed. I came across medical journal articles, documentaries and other literature on the drugs he prescribed.
I came to the conclusion that none of these drugs had been proved to work and the side effects were too dangerous and in some cases fatal. Psychiatrists don't have a definite proof for a chemical imbalance in the brain for the made up mental illnesses they diagnose. Yes, not even depression.
Thinking back at how he determined the different mental diseases affecting me, he detected symptoms asking questions like 'are you scared to talk in front of a crowd?', 'do new situations make you nervous?'. I'm pretty sure we all are within the range of symptoms he felt true for me.
Even if I'd agree with him in the diagnosis of those affections, I'd think that the best option for treatment would be therapy groups, meditation, relaxation techniques, food rich in certain elements, exercise and loving and caring environments. Never drugs especially when they cause bigger problems than the initial symptoms.
After careful consideration, the prescriptions note went into my paper recycle bin after carefully been shredded. The most difficult step is ahead of me. I am to find the supportive environment and the rest of things I mentioned as alternative treatment without a dollar as this is my current situation.
    Wish me luck!
