  • They say that home is where the heart is. But what if your heart is strewn across the country, or even across the world?
I am kept cozy by the soft rocking of my small sailboat on the Bay
waters of the Pacific Ocean. The warm arms of my beloved San Francisco wrapped tightly around me. My only daughter, my heart, on the west coast.
My home town beckons to me from across the country. Memories of the warm summers spent swimming in the cold Atlantic waters. Breathing in the clean crisp air of a white New England Christmas, with the sparkle of a new fallen snow covering any imperfections to make my home feel like a fairyland.
My mother, my brothers and sisters, their children, and now their children's children. My dear family and friends.
My one and only sweet son, born of another mother, brother of my daughter. I could not love him more if I had given birth to him myself. Again, my heart. On the east coast. My heart is yours too, New England!
So tomorrow I will cross the Golden Gate Bridge, leaving my heart in San Francisco, to work my way across the country to where I will bring my heart home for the holidays! Home is where the heart is!
