  • Candles have always appealed to me for as long as I can remember.
    They represent warmth and comfort, and when lit they give the room a lovely atmosphere.
    When they go out, it's almost as if a presence has left the room.
    Although the flame is a danger, they can represent safety.

    Whenever I can, I light candles. Even the smallest ones are lit. It is a great disappointment when a candle has run out of wax, or when a wick breaks.
    When a candle burns for the last time, it is a fallen soldier in a battle.
