  • Her grandpa and grandma were from Fairmont, Indiana. They lived in a three bedroom farm house. Grandpa Rogers was a banker and grandma Rogers work in the school. She was high up in the school. She was very important, which gave my mom guidance and showed my mom that work is very important in life. Her grandparents were very involved with the community and church. They had five children. One daughter and four sons. Her grandpa and grandma were head of the Youth church camp every summer, which was located across the street from their far house. My mother had to attend church and go to these camps every summer. She says this is why she doesn't attend church because she felt like she was forced to go and this is another reason what shapes her today. James Dean was born in Fairmont, Indiana. Her grandparents went to school with him. She thought this was very neat and cool and thought is was a very important aspect of her grandparents life. Her grandparents also had their own garden where they grew vegetables and fruit. Her grandma canned for the winter. Her grandpa and their neighbor would butcher a cow for the winter and sometimes a pig. These were things that my mom could remember of her childhood that she found important. In this picture is my mother and her grandpa in their backyard.
