  • I’m writing in English today.
    Mexico is burning.
We are dying here and the world is looking the other way.
We have being dying for years because of the drug war. Some years ago the narcos used to kill each other, and then they started to kill us. Then about eight years ago, the government declared a war against them.
I agreed. I thought, I still do, that it was correct.
But Calderon, he was our president, wasn’t smart enough, or the narcos were smarter than him, or the rest of the politicians were too corrupted, or everything at the same time.
So thousands of innocent people started to die. They were called “collateral damage” like some American movies.
Nod some people started to disappear.
The government tried to justify this situation by saying that they were somehow working with the narcos. But we knew this wasn’t right.
    And we changed president.
And now the police and the army are the one killing us. In the last months enormous tombs, well large holes in the ground, under dumpsters, or in the jungle, have been “discovered” and in there, are some times 20 or 30 corpses.
And the Mexicans are shouting enough. We are still crying you know…but we are also saying enough.
And the world…is looking the other way,
    And I’m scared..so scared…
