  • My father has a tattoo on right right forearm, a heart with an arrow through it and three letters on either side of where the arrow bisects the heart: "Rav" and "Kir".

When I was little I always thought it odd that he would have the first three letters of his name tattooed there, and would ask him "How did you know that it would be my name, even before I was born?" My father would only laugh at me and tousle my hair.

In Sanskrit, my name means "ray of light" and the meaning of my father's name is "Sun". He got the tattoo shortly after he met my mother and though I never had it confirmed from them, his pet name for my mother was "ray of light".

Though my parents marriage is not perfect and hasn't been for many a year, I can safely say that I was named from love.
