  • 27. Step foot on a deserted island.

A few years ago I had a really great boss. A tough but fair boss. A boss that would call you out when you weren't living up to your potential. After a few years working for him I was diagnosed with a chronic illness and shortly after my marriage fell apart. I was a mess.

During this time I had a conversation with my boss that I'll never forget. We talked about dreams. I told him I felt like dreams were no longer within my reach. He told me I had a unique opportunity to start over. The opportunity to chase after my dreams, big or small, now that I knew how fragile life could be.

"Sarah, write it down." He said.
    "Write it down?" I questioned.
"Yes, write what you want down. Trust me. I know it sounds silly, but make a list. If you write it down, it will happen. I promise."

I made a list. A long list that I have never showed to anyone.

Now, every once in a while, a dream from that list comes true with little or no effort. Like the universe is conspiring to make the dream list a reality. I don't know if it's the law of attraction, my subconscious or maybe just magic. I really don't want to know. All I know is: Write it down.

    Thanks Chris.
