  • We live here where the politics do run deep.
    I came here to make the wheels of government turn.
    Each day from when I awake to when I go to sleep,
    I bust my ass, not just my paycheck for to earn!

    I, like many of my colleagues, really do care,
    I’m a taxpayer first, and consider it a public trust;
    I look out my window, I see the Capitol up there,
    And wonder how they, in good conscience, let it all go to bust!

    I’m paid to do a job and passion, I bring a ton;
    I pride myself on my ability to cut through red tape.
    Government workers like myself we get it done,
    While those politicians spread falsity and hate!

    We live in a place that many deeply despise,
    They’re quick to throw Washington under the bus;
    But before you send more planes falling out of the skies,
    Remember, after the politicians, there’s the rest of us!

    We live and we work to make it a better place,
    We serve a purpose, change it from within;
    Slow and steady, the turtle wins the race,
    While the political rabbits do absolutely nothin’!
