  • I was going through the Cowbird site browsing stories to read and thinking of stuff to write and noticed something. On the Seeds segment my eye caught the Seed for 'Tell us about your first love'. The sprouts that prompt had sprouts was second only to a Sees on stories about teenage years. In fact telling each other about our first Love had over a thousand sprouts.

And it got me thinking. Yes, love is a common denominator between us all. It is also the thing we like to share the most with others. Through the pain and the fog and the uncertainty of life, our inner self's true yearning is displayed so clearly. The need for love, we know, exists in all of us; whether from the millions of articles we read in teenage magazines, and in fashion magazines, disguised as 'how to have the best sex' articles; whether in movies, in ads, in scientific notes we read once we have kids of our own; in books, in songs, and in our own delirious search for Love and companionship.

It is a common need and denominator in our lives, and here, at Cowbird I discovered something vitally important. That it is also the thing we want to share with each other. 'The first time we fell in Love'. Over a thousand stories sprouted for that statement alone, almost fifteen hundred in fact!

Imagine if we allowed ourselves to feel that way day to day. Knowing that this is the single most powerful thing we want share with each other. Our stories of love. Imagine how we would look at each other then. Allowing our insecurities and fears to fade, knowing the Truth of our existence here. The need, desire and ability we already have, in sharing our experiences of Love. The real power of love.
