  • The Pharmacist

    Like rose petals you fall into my dreams,

    your white over-coat starched, sterile, and crisp.

    Your nametag; Joe Reverie; smooth like cream.

    Your tongue drips sweet words, they trickle in wisps.

    Panache drapes you like diamonds from the sky.

    Your breath like vespers, a gift to bestow,

    beard sprinkled with star dust, bright starry eyes,

    your smile warms like moonshine and firefly glow.

    I brush your banded hand taking your pen.

    I’ll take you home with me but you won’t know.

    Beautiful package to be unwrapped... then;

    No Sandman needed to bid this dream Joe.

    If you lose your wife I’ll summon my wish,

    I’ll knock at your backdoor with a hot dish.

    Pamela Wilonski
