Anyone on Cowbird doing NaNoWriMo this year? I have a couple of friends who had made plans to join up. I think you need to be really prolific to be able to write consistently for 30 days. Writing everyday wouldn't be such a problem but putting down approximately 2000 words every day (to reach the target of 50,000 words) would definitely be difficult for most people.
Could be a very good writing exercise though. Writing everyday would definitely help you to flex those writing muscles. And no problem if you don't get your novel or book published. It could be the first draft of a best-seller, who knows?
I'm too lazy to join NaNoWriMo but I've made a resolution to post a story every day for the month of November. It may be a few lines, a short poem, or something that I've written and never published before.
I'm also hoping that by doing so I will finally get over the habit of procrastinating, the feeling of being not good enough, low self-esteem.
How appropriate to start on the first day of a new month. A new beginning and it's also All Saints' Day. The Lord knows I'm no saint. It's time to get rid of all the old devils. Get thee behind me Satan, procrastination and all the other evils.
My pen is my shiny new sword and I'm going to start brandishing it now. The new me shines in anticipation. Wish me luck.
