  • Something is coming alive in me again despite the season. I see new life all over the streets of Kabul: Precious little puppies who aren't fearful of all of us yet, sweet children who work on the street who really don't mind that I don't give them money as long as I remember their name when I see them again, persimmons and pomegranates more luscious than I have ever seen, protestors trying to persuade us one way. I see new life again in me.
