London had been gripped in a friendly hub of Olympic joy, and here as they sailed past in a moment, strangers were all Londoners laughing together, teasing as if we'd known each other for a lifetime.
And then they were gone, carrying the fun I'd offered them along with their laughter as they whooped into the distance, knowing I could hear them. I closed up my camera bag and carried their images with me across the road and beyond.
