  • I clicked "LOVE" for Tom Swift Bird's 'In Memory Of Wounded Knee' not because I love the horrible tale of genocide and human suffering that is the true story of how the West was 'won'. I clicked that button because I responded to this piece on a primal level of empathy, shame and empowerment.

Empathy for the plight of indigenous people all over this planet who continue to fall victims to the tyrannic culture of Maximum Harm.

Shame for being one of the Takers whose dominant society of rampant unending consumption is changing the world's bio-mass into human mass while simultaneously exterminating the rich cultural diversity of the Leavers.

Empowerment because it is by knowing and sharing the true nature of our common humanity through words and art that we will reclaim our Mother Earth from the World Eaters.
