  • You were minutes away from the long eternity, had it not been for the paramedics' efforts. Large burly men in bright fluorescent coats, big boots tramping through the house. Doors thrown open. Reassuring us through our panic. Lights and sirens lighting the sidewalk.

Now your body is well, we face the real task of recovery, as arduous as any trek across the dunes. The mind is infinitely more complex than the physical frame.

Twisting, turning, scaling the peaks of the dunes, walking in the blistering sun. Now catching a glimpse of eternity at the top of the peak, then floundering abysmally in the deep sand troughs. Cold freezing nights with starry skies. Dry bones, scorpions scurrying, and bright flowers dazzling the senses.

We love you. We want to carry you over the difficult paths, but know you must face much of it alone. Can you see your way through to the other side? We have to leave you here.
