    I am 13 going 14

Attending a boarding school hundred miles away from home

    I wear glasses

Co captain of my basket ball team

    I have 6 roommates

    I hate washing my clothes

I am in love with one of my classmates

    April 7th 1994

    The Genocide starts

I am still 13 but feeling like 50

My world suddenly turns upside down

I learn that we were not all friends after all

I am forced to take sides

I come face to face with the notion that life is short

I don't know where my parents are

    I witness human hunt

    I am scared

    I am confused

    I loose my innocence.

This photograph taken probably in 1993 was sent to me by a former classmate who found it in his belongings with my name written on the back. For a while he thought I was dead. He googled my name and found me on Facebook. I am the kid on the back of the motorcycle. We were out exploring tea plantations surrounding the school when this photograph was taken.

I haven't seen my friend since 1994. He lives in France now.
