  • Occasionally, we find ourselves dusting off old objects and triggering memories. Here are some momentos that my father assembled into a collage of sorts (in a plastic casing) - a photograph of the two of us after a race (that I placed 4th in my age division), a t-shirt and a "map" of the course.

During high school, my father talked me into running. I had no idea how proud he was of me until I looked at this photo from 1985, but I see it now in his expression; and the way he made an effort to cut out my name from the sports section of the local paper - and the t-shirt from the same race but from a different year.

I wish I had photographed his assemblage - everything preserved in a plastic casing - and I wish we still had the chance to meet at a terrestrial finish line and share a smile.
