  • Thiru Kumar has been selling Dosa in Washington Square Park for 15 years. It's a street-food staple in South India, and now, New York City.

    Kumar cooks absolutely everything by himself, he says that's the key to consistency. He buys most of his ingredients from his brother's Indian market. He says his food than anything you can find in South India because he can buy ingredients, like parsley, that you can't get overseas.

    People come from all over New York City to try his Dosa. When he runs out of food, he packs up and goes home. Kumar says the reason why his regular customers queue up in front of his cart week after week is because he puts so much love in his food.
