I absolutely love the way you ended the story! perfect. I don't need to tell you how true your words are and how well you coordinated this entire piece. Lol this coming from your younger daughter must be weird but we've both ranted about this issue and now it's been written so gracefully.

Aye, it was a great journey. Though i have so many more stories to tell of last year's experience, I think i'll stop here, and make room for more. Mary, you're never too old to climb. Even if you're not 90 degrees vertical on a cliff, it's the hight that draws you. I always dream of the high places.

Trees are also very important. In an urban setting where trees aren't as common, each one stands out like a monument. i know and love each tree like an individual. When one gets cut down, it's heartbreaking. Trees do so much for us and to think that every year, there are so many less trees in the world is sad. P.S. I love Japenese Maples. But i always wondered, are they always red all year? I can't seem to remember seeing one in a green phase.

I love my yard, i can't imagine ever being without it. Vast, lush, dotted with trees, and crawling with wildlife, I can't help but be grateful for this vast outdoor space, a place to breath in contrast to the smallness of our actual house. And we're lucky to have it, too; rarely any houses in our town have a yard big enough for a garden. And I think a garden is a very important part of a home, where you can grow and interact directly with your food.

Though I cannot imagine the world you live in, I can only wish you the best in living through it. I remember a time period when I was like 9 or ten when I wouldn't let my mom leave the house for fear that something would happen to her.

Oh yes, definitely; despite the aching knees and certain moments where the discomfort is almost unbearable, the camp offers so many different experiences. It teaches you the essentials of life; teamwork, endurance, and living in the moment. I saw sights and experienced friendships I'll never forget. Normally, I would dislike camps, i's rather spend my summer in solitary laziness, doing whatever I feel like, but this camp is special. I haven't had nearly enough yet.

Thank's, all! I had a great time. and yes Mary, that is in fact my singing voice. I'm not all that proud of it.... but I thought it wouldn't be right if I didn't include some songs, as singing was so commonly a part of our daily lives.

I go to Turkey often, where they have stray cats in almost every crevice you look. I love them all, the way they move, the way they carry themselves; I try and touch them all.... but I also hate the way people reject them as if they were demons with the plaque. They all deserve a chance. They can take care of themselves, but all creatures need a little love... thanks for this.

Bravo, Johnnie! We all have may fears that we may or may not overcome, but you persisted and didn't back down from this one. The butterfly and everyone on cowbird is proud. I admire butterflies, but since six or seven I just can't enjoy bugs like I used to... after several attempts I may jump from the roof but never will I let the daddy longlegs touch me...

Great pictures, Diane. I could see every feather on that duck (goose?). I love being able to share personal moments with members of nature's community. Be careful, though. A hiss means stay away! (I know because i once didn't heed the warning and got a good nipping).

I completely agree. Natural fences are subtle and, well, more
natural
..they blend the two territories while defining boundaries. these sharp man-made fences cut us off from each other. It's not right to live in your own enclosed space, boxed in, isolated. Right on!

How it looks isn't important, it's the concept; your gingerbread house is a colorful mass of creativity, love and persistence are the glue that holds it together. We too bought a a ready-to-be-assembled house this year, at the last moment- each piece the perfect width and shape. Artificial. We only had candy canes to Decorate it. We put it together joylessly, in the end with a colapsed wall and icing splattered aimlessly everywhere. Nothing is perfect, but yours is pretty darn awesome!

Man, lucky you! I wish i was there. I'm always searching for a way to get up close to animals. But perhaps it's best not to draw too many deer to your house... they're thrilling as a rare sight, but if they're hanging around all the time, you'll get used to it and the thrill might be gone. You might start getting annoyed with them eating things they're not supposed to, pooping, maybe trying to get inside...!....

beautiful architecture.... but yes I can't stand malls, With all the people, the blipping of machines, the posters of pretty people, and most of all what goes into making it possible, like deforestation, and tons of waste in in electricity, water, resources all that.
